About Aya Specialist Hospital

The first specialist hospital for women in the Western Region — founded on international standards and kept deliberately close to its patients.

Aya Specialist Hospital, Prince Sultan Street, Jeddah
Our story

Founded to do one thing properly

Aya Specialist Hospital was established in Jeddah as the first hospital in the Western Region built specifically around women, childbirth, fertility and children — not as a department inside a general hospital, but as the whole purpose of the building.

It was founded under the full supervision of Professor Fatima Al-Otaibi, professor of obstetrics, gynaecology, infertility and IVF. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University, completed her Canadian Fellowship in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Ottawa, and subspecialised at the University of Western Ontario in infertility, IVF, endoscopic and laser surgery, and reproductive endocrinology. She returned to the Kingdom to teach and research at King Abdulaziz University, rising to full professor, and served for more than fifteen years as a consultant at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital before founding Aya.

That history explains how the hospital is organised. Obstetrics, fertility and paediatrics were designed to work as one continuous service, because that is how a family actually experiences them.

Our mission

Exceptional, comprehensive care on international standards

We are committed to bringing the latest technology into every medical field, and to attracting the most distinguished talent in both the medical and administrative professions — so that the quality of what we give our patients holds, and is given with honesty, respect and trust.

Our vision

First and best in the Kingdom

To lead in providing high-quality, outstanding medical services and care for women, childbirth, infertility and children — and to be the first and best in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Our values

What the Aya team holds itself to

Islamic principles

Ethics, honesty, integrity and respect for the traditions of our community.

Excellence

Through quality, through the care we give patients, and through developing our own people.

Ethics

Integrity, truthfulness, honour, privacy and confidentiality.

Understanding

A real grasp of what our patients need and what worries them.

Teamwork

The Aya team works together to reach the same goals.

Safety & responsibility

Commitment to the safety of our patients and our environment, with professionalism and loyalty.

Why choose Aya

What is different about being treated here

Three specialties, one hospital

Obstetrics, fertility and paediatrics sit in the same building. A woman who conceives with us is delivered by us, and her baby is looked after on the same floor — no referrals, no starting again elsewhere.

Care led by women, for women

Our obstetrics and gynaecology clinics are led by senior female consultants, with female nursing throughout — so that modesty is never something you have to ask for.

A fertility centre with its own laboratory

Our IVF unit runs an on-site embryology laboratory with controlled air handling and continuous monitoring, so your embryos never leave the building.

Open every hour of the year

Emergency obstetrics, paediatrics and pharmacy run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Labour does not keep office hours, and neither do we.

Rooms that feel like rest

Private and VIP maternity suites with room for your family to stay, so the first days with your baby happen somewhere calm.

Care in your language

Consultations in Arabic and English, with the major insurers accepted and a booking team that will tell you what is covered before you arrive.

Aya Academy

A teaching hospital, not just a treating one

Aya Academy is our education and research arm — training the next generation of clinicians, keeping our own staff current, and contributing to the evidence base in women’s and children’s health.

Life support courses

Accredited resuscitation training for clinical staff and for visiting practitioners — basic and advanced life support, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric emergency drills run on our own wards.

Residency training — SCFHS accredited

A residency programme accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, with structured rotations, supervised operating and clinic lists, and consultant-led teaching throughout.

Research

Clinical research in obstetrics, assisted reproduction and neonatal care — audit, outcome registries and collaborative studies, so that what we do here is measured rather than assumed.

IVF Fellowship Programme — SCFHS accredited

A subspecialty fellowship in reproductive medicine and assisted conception, accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, trained inside our own embryology laboratory and fertility clinics.
