Aya Specialist Hospital in Jeddah was founded on a vision of an integrated model of healthcare, bringing together obstetrics and gynaecology, fertility and IVF, and paediatrics and newborn care in a medical setting designed around the needs of women and families at every stage of life.
It was established under the scientific and medical supervision of Professor Fatima Al-Otaibi, Professor of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Infertility and IVF, and a graduate of the College of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University. She completed the Canadian fellowship in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Ottawa, then pursued her subspecialty training at Western University in Ontario in infertility and IVF, laparoscopic and laser surgery, and reproductive endocrinology.
After returning to Saudi Arabia, she continued her academic career in teaching and research at King Abdulaziz University until she reached the rank of professor.
That experience shaped the hospital’s vision and the design of its services: obstetrics and gynaecology, fertility and paediatrics work together to provide connected medical care, from assessing and treating delayed conception, through pregnancy follow-up and birth, to the care of newborns and children.
