Questions

Before you book

When should we see a fertility specialist?

If you are under 35 and have been trying to conceive for twelve months without success, it is reasonable to ask for an assessment. If you are 35 or older, come after six months. Come sooner if you have irregular or absent periods, known endometriosis, previous pelvic surgery, or more than one miscarriage. Fertility is a two-person question, so we assess both partners from the start.

What happens at my first antenatal visit?

Your first visit takes about 45 minutes. We confirm the pregnancy and dating with an ultrasound, take a full medical and obstetric history, run baseline blood tests, and agree a schedule of visits with you. You will leave knowing who your consultant is, when your next appointment is, and which number to call at any hour.

Can my husband stay with me during labour and after delivery?

Yes. Our private and VIP maternity suites have space for a companion to stay overnight, and your husband is welcome in the delivery room. Tell us at booking so we can assign the right room.

Do you accept medical insurance?

Aya works with the major insurers operating in the Kingdom. Coverage differs between policies, particularly for fertility treatment, so our booking team will check your policy and tell you what is covered and what is not before you come in. Call 920012342 with your insurance card to hand.

Is the fertility laboratory on site?

Yes. Eggs, sperm and embryos are handled in our own embryology laboratory inside the hospital, under continuous temperature and air-quality monitoring. Nothing is transported to another facility.

What if my baby needs extra care after birth?

Our neonatal unit is on the same floor as the birthing suites, staffed around the clock and led by a consultant paediatrician. Babies who need support do not leave the building, and parents can visit the unit outside general visiting hours.
